Meagher + Geer is proud to announce that Jonathan Miller and his team have achieved a complete and final resolution for our client following a lengthy and contentious dissolution of marriage case that began in October 2021. The case, which was venued in Hennepin County Family Court, involved complex litigation, including custody, parenting time, and property division, and a trial that lasted from June 2023 to February 2024. At the conclusion of trial, the court issued a comprehensive Judgment and Decree resolving all major issues in favor of Mr. Miller’s client. There were also several post-judgment motions decided in favor of Mr. Miller’s client.
The opposing party appealed. On February 2, 2026, the Minnesota Court of Appeals issued a published decision affirming all rulings of the Hennepin County Family Court in favor of Mr. Miller’s client. The appellate opinion, rendered after oral argument in December 2025, upheld the original Judgment and Decree and validated the trial court’s handling of post-judgment matters, marking a significant appellate win.
Seeking further review, the opposing party petitioned the Minnesota Supreme Court for review of the Court of Appeals’ Decision. In April 2026, the Supreme Court issued its final Order denying review and bringing final resolution for our client.
This victory was orchestrated by Meagher + Geer Partner Jonathan Miller and Associate Caroline Ruwe with support from Appellate Practice Chair, Julia Nierengarten, who set the stage for a successful oral argument on appeal.
