Vanessa is an associate in the firm’s professional liability – health care practice group, where she works with clients on complex litigation and regulatory matters. She draws on her experience in both litigation and client advocacy to help develop thoughtful, practical solutions.

Before joining Meagher + Geer, Vanessa clerked for the Honorable Daniel C. Moreno of the Fourth Judicial District Court of Minnesota, where she gained valuable insight into judicial decision-making and case management.
Vanessa earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, she:
- Competed as a finalist and won Best Brief in the Gender and Sexuality Moot Court Competition at Michigan State University
- Represented clients in federal court as a certified student attorney with the Federal Immigration Litigation Clinic
- Volunteered with the National Immigrant Justice Center through the Asylum Law Project
- Worked with a local immigration firm on humanitarian, family-based, and employment matters
Vanessa graduated magna cum laude from the College of St. Benedict with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and English Literature. Prior to law school, she worked in advertising at a local agency for three years.
Vanessa also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she coaches students in written and oral advocacy for a civil rights-focused moot court competition.
