Patrick is an associate in our insurance practice groups. He focuses his practice on large loss litigation, property appraisal disputes, coverage litigation, and losses involving suspected fraud. He also has experience defending bodily injury claims and matters arising under the Minnesota No-Fault Act, including disputes involving medical billing irregularities and coding requirements. His work frequently involves analysis of insurance policy language, preparation of coverage opinions, and advising insurers regarding claims involving irregularities.
Beyond insurance matters, Patrick has advised small business clients on a variety of transactional and business disputes. His experience includes drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, partnership agreements, and other contracts for corporate clients. He has also advised businesses regarding franchise agreements, partnership disputes, and tax appeals.
Patrick has negotiated separation agreements for terminated employees and counseled companies on contract-for-deed transactions. Additionally, he has advised homeowners’ associations on governance matters, including covenants, conditions, restrictions, and bylaws.
Patrick earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, with a certificate in Corporate and Commercial Law. While in law school, he published a legal article in the Denver University Law Review and participated in a study abroad program in Rome, Italy.
