Matt is an associate in the firm’s insurance practice group, where he works with insurers and businesses on litigation and dispute resolution matters. He supports clients by helping them navigate claims from early strategy through trial with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Before joining the firm, he practiced as an associate attorney handling insurance defense litigation, managing all phases of cases from strategy through trial. He also served as a judicial law clerk, where he drafted numerous court orders addressing a wide range of legal issues, including emerging questions such as geofence warrants.

He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he participated in multiple legal clinics. During law school, he also gained experience through federal judicial externships, assisting in civil rights and civil litigation matters and drafting orders on complex and developing legal issues, including COVID-19 employer vaccination mandates.
He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in public policy and criminology from Arizona State University.
Outside the office, he enjoys kayaking, reading, and taking on DIY projects.
