Maya is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense. She represents clients in a variety of litigation matters, including automobile liability, premises liability, and other civil disputes. Maya has experience handling cases through all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, depositions, arbitration proceedings, and courtroom appearances. She regularly analyzes liability and damages issues, develops litigation strategies, and drafts pleadings, motions, written discovery, and legal memoranda in both state and federal courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Maya practiced at a plaintiff’s civil litigation firm, where she managed a variety of personal injury matters. While in law school, she supported complex civil and commercial litigation matters as a in multiple jurisdictions across the United States. Prior to law school, she supported attorneys in complex civil litigation matters, including commercial disputes, employment matters, transportation claims, and civil rights defense.
Maya earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she also earned a Certificate in Business Law. During law school, she served on the executive boards of the Corporate Law Society and the Women in Law Society, and she was active in both the First-Generation Law Student Association and the Labor and Employment Law Society. She received her B.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, with a minor in Sociolegal Studies.
When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, exploring Chicago’s local food scene, and attending live music events around the city.
