For more than 25 years, Leatha has concentrated on counseling insurers and other clients on strategies designed to address internal and external fraud – strategies that encompass prevention as well as the handling, investigation, and litigation of fraudulent claims.
She is chair of Meagher & Geer’s Anti-Fraud Counseling & Litigation practice group which has handled thousands of cases over the past decade. She is also one of the firm’s leaders, serving as a member of its management committee.
Leatha litigates fraud and civil RICO matters throughout Minnesota and the country. She also has experience handling significant property loss, defamation, and other complex commercial litigation. Leatha is regularly named to the Minnesota Super Lawyers® list in the area of anti-fraud counseling and business litigation. She is named by Minnesota Lawyer a 2015 Attorneys of the Year.

Frequently, Leatha is asked to resolve questions involving arson, property losses, healthcare provider fraud, staged automobile accidents, and contract rescission due to misrepresentation. She is a frequent lecturer, trial advocacy instructor and in-house trainer to clients, trade groups and other businesses regarding all aspects of fraud-related litigation. She speaks on varied topics including fraud prevention, litigation process, deposition tactics, failure to cooperate and policy rescission.
Outside the office, Leatha and her husband (who is also a lawyer) focus on the school and equestrian activities of their two daughters. The family owns two horses.
