Laura focuses her practice on insurance defense and coverage matters, with an emphasis on automobile and property damage claims. She represents insurers in first-party automobile claims, including uninsured and underinsured motorist matters and no-fault benefits, and defends insureds in third-party automobile claims.
In her property practice, Laura defends insurers in first-party claims arising from hail, wind, fire, tornadoes, and other catastrophic events, both before and during litigation. She also represents insureds in third-party property disputes involving negligence, nuisance, and related claims. She has extensive experience with the property appraisal process and regularly helps clients navigate complex property damage and valuation disputes. Laura also defends insurers in extra-contractual claims.
Laura is an experienced litigator who has served as first chair in jury trials and has achieved favorable outcomes through trial and dispositive motions, including summary judgment. She also regularly represents insurers and insureds in conciliation court. Laura takes a strategic, results-driven approach to resolving disputes efficiently while positioning cases for success when litigation is necessary.
Earlier in her career, Laura handled a significant volume of professional liability defense matters, during which she represented attorneys, accountants, title agents, contractors, and architects, giving her a well-rounded litigation background. She also has extensive no-fault arbitration experience, including representing automobile insurers in arbitration and handling more than 100 no-fault arbitration hearings.
Since joining the firm in 2014, Laura has built a reputation for practical, effective advocacy.
Beyond her client work, Laura is a member of Meagher + Geer’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and served as the firm’s captain for the Associates’ Campaign for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid in 2023 and 2024. She recently presented at the Minnesota IAAI Conference and is a member of DRI.
Laura earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and her B.A., with honors, from Michigan State University.
