Meagher + Geer is proud to announce that four attorneys have been elected to the firm’s partnership effective January 1, 2026. The 2026 New Partner Class includes Jacalyn Chinander, Sadiya Hashem, Besse McDonald, and Melissa Dosick Riethof.

Jacalyn Chinander focuses her practice on employment and commercial litigation and advising. She works with businesses and non-profit organizations of all sizes to find sensible solutions to legal challenges. She defends employers in federal and state court; before local, state, and federal agencies; and in individual, collective, and class actions.

Sadiya Hashem practices in insurance defense, commercial litigation, and construction law from our Los Angeles office. Sadiya’s practice consists of assisting businesses and individuals through the various stages of litigation all the way through trial. She earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and obtained her B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara in Psychology and Religious Studies.

Besse McDonald is an attorney in our professional liability – health care practice group. Besse’s experience includes defending medical professional clients in all phases of litigation, through trial, in both state and federal court. In addition to litigation defense, Besse provides legal representation to healthcare providers before their respective licensing boards.

Melissa Dosick Riethof focuses her practice on employment advising and litigation, commercial litigation, and appellate litigation. She represents companies and individuals in the areas of workplace discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. She also represents clients in business litigation matters, including contractual disputes and other business torts. Her practice involves litigation proceedings in both state and federal courts where she assists clients through all phases of litigation, including e-discovery, complex motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.
