    Associate Attorney
    Mid-Level Employment Advising and Litigation

    We are seeking a Mid-Level Employment Advising and Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of employment law experience to join our dynamic legal team. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney who enjoys counseling employers on a wide range of workplace legal issues and litigating employment claims. The position offers a balanced opportunity to work in both an advisory and defense litigation capacity, supporting a diverse client base that may include public and private employers across various industries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Legal Counseling: Advise HR professionals and management teams on legal risks related to hiring, discipline, employee leave, terminations, workplace investigations, and performance management.
    • Policy Development: Draft, review, and update employment policies, employee handbooks, and SOPs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
    • Compliance Guidance: Provide strategic advice to clients on legal compliance, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and other relevant employment laws.
    • Transactional Support: Counsel clients on the employment law aspects of corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions.
    • Litigation Defense: Represent employers in disputes involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour violations. Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery, and participate in litigation strategy for matters pending before federal, state, and local agencies and in state and federal court.

    Required Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
    • Active bar membership in Minnesota
    • 3–6 years of experience practicing employment law, with a demonstrated focus in counseling and/or litigation
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • High attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment
    • Experience collaborating with HR professionals and business leaders is highly desirable

    Legal Administrative Assistant

    We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Minneapolis team and support our attorneys in delivering exceptional legal services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide dedicated support to assigned timekeepers, ensuring prompt and accurate assistance
    • Prepare and process legal documents and correspondence; perform transcription
    • Electronically file legal documents in State and Federal courts in compliance with applicable rules
    • Maintain calendars and docket deadlines; manage case information and track developments
    • Organize, index, and maintain physical and electronic case files
    • Open, review, date stamp, scan, and save incoming mail and documents
    • Save email correspondence, RightFax documents, and outgoing materials in the firm’s electronic case file system
    • Create and maintain spreadsheets
    • Prepare documents and exhibits for oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions
    • Submit new file opening requests; prepare and close physical case files
    • Track CLE credits for assigned attorneys and maintain compliance records
    • Communicate effectively with clients, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors
    • Make travel arrangements and prepare itineraries for attorneys
    • Enter time, process expense reports, and perform other administrative duties
    • Provide coverage during staff absences and assist with special projects as directed by leadership
    • Attend monthly Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) departmental meetings
    • Foster positive working relationships with all firm personnel across offices

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
    • Five years of legal secretarial or paralegal experience required
    • Proficient with court procedures and electronic filing systems (State and Federal courts)
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software systems
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
