Meagher + Geer announces that Ethan Groothuis has joined the firm’s Mass Tort/Toxic Tort and Products Liability practice groups. Prior to joining Meagher + Geer, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lucinda E. Jesson at the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Ethan graduated from Luther College with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in English Writing and served has a Managing Editor of the student newspaper.

Ethan earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. During law school, he served as an Associate Editor and a Managing Editor for the Mitchell Hamline Law Review. While in law school, Ethan gained valuable research and writing experience during his time as a Legal Extern with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and through his work as a Law Clerk for the Senate Counsel, Research, and Fiscal Analysis department. Ethan honed his litigation skills working as a Law Clerk at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and as a Student Clinician with the Mitchell Hamline Indian Law Clinic.

Outside of the office, Ethan enjoys paddle boarding, reading, rooting for the Twins and Vikings, and bar trivia.
