Meagher + Geer Partner Charles E. Spevacek Selected to Serve on the Nominations Committee for Appointment of Minnesota’s Next Federal Judge

Meagher + Geer is proud to announce that Charles (Chuck) E. Spevacek has been appointed by Congressman Tom Emmer and Minnesota’s Republican Congressional delegation to serve on the Nominations Committee to interview and recommend candidates to President Trump for the position of United States District Court judge for the District of Minnesota. This comes after Chief Judge Patrick Schiltz of the District of Minnesota announced he will take semi-retired status next summer.

“Our committee’s members are some of Minnesota’s sharpest legal minds with a wealth of experience and expertise. We are confident in their ability to recommend individuals who will uphold the rule of law and who share our judicial philosophy. We are eager to review the committee’s work and to provide President Trump with the names of the best and brightest public servants,” the lawmakers said.

The Committee is chaired by the Honorable G. Barry Anderson, former Minnesota Supreme Court Associate Justice.
