Barbara Zurek, a partner with the law firm Meagher & Geer P.L.L.P., was recently inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL).  Membership in the Academy is limited to just 500 lawyers in the United States. Barbara receives this honor based upon evaluations and recommendations by her colleagues and judges.

Barbara has tried more than 50 cases – in trial and on appeal. She and her colleagues serve as defense counsel for Minnesota’s leading underwriter of medical malpractice insurance. They are also approved local defense counsel for the leading medical malpractice insurers of chiropractors and dentists.  For her skillful defense of medical malpractice lawsuits, Barbara is consistently named on the Super Lawyer listing published in Minnesota Law & Politics magazine. She is also listed as a Top 100 Women Super Lawyer. She is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

IATL was chartered in 1954.  In general, its purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the Administration of Justice, elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
