Meagher & Geer has announced that Barbara A. Zurek, a partner in the firm’s Health Care group, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, widely considered to be the premier professional trial organization in America. Fellowship is extended only by invitation to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Membership can never be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.

Ms. Zurek, was inducted October 13, 2007 at the 57th Annual Meeting of the American College of Trial Lawyers in Denver, Colorado. She joins Meagher & Geer partners Dick Bland, Gary Hoch and Jim Roegge in membership in this prestigious organization. Only four other women lawyers from Minnesota are present Fellows.

At the meeting in Denver, retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor was presented with a sculpture recognizing her support of the College, and her many contributions to our country. In addition, the College announced the new Sandra Day O’Connor Jurist Award.
