Meagher + Geer is proud to announce Vanessa M. Hird has joined its Professional Liability – Health Care practice group as an Associate Attorney. Prior to joining the firm, Vanessa clerked for the Honorable Daniel C. Moreno of the Fourth Judicial District Court of Minnesota.

Vanessa earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was a finalist and Best Brief winner in Michigan State University’s Gender and Sexuality Moot Court Competition. During law school, Vanessa represented clients in federal court as a certified student attorney with the Federal Immigration Litigation Clinic, volunteered with the National Immigrant Justice Center through the Asylum Law Project, and interned at a local immigration firm handling humanitarian, family-based, and employment cases.

Vanessa graduated magna cum laude from the College of St. Benedict with a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies and English Literature.

Vanessa is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she coaches students in written and oral advocacy for a civil rights-focused moot court competition.

Outside the office, Vanessa enjoys reading, travel, and concerts.
