Main Biography

Livia focuses her practice in the areas of shareholder disputes, employment litigation and counseling, and professional liability litigation.  She represents companies in shareholder disputes, oppression lawsuits, and disputes concerning employee-shareholders.  Livia also counsels and represents companies and individuals on non-competition, non-solicitation, and trade secret issues.  She routinely appears in court to move for or defend against motions for temporary restraining orders and injunctions involving these often critical and time-sensitive issues.

In the area of professional liability litigation, Livia defends professionals facing malpractice claims.  She represents broker-dealers and individual registered representatives in securities fraud and investment–related disputes in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA, formerly NASD) arbitration forum.  She also represents real estate appraisers, agents, and brokers in state and federal court.

Livia is a graduate of St. Olaf College and Hamline University School of Law.  Upon graduation, Livia clerked for the Minnesota Court of Appeals before joining Meagher & Geer.  Livia is recognized as a Rising Star by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine.

Outside of the office, Livia enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, and their Golden Retriever, Watson.  They enjoy traveling (both internationally and domestically) and camping on their lakeshore property in Wisconsin.
