Main Biography

Brad focuses his practice on defending commercial litigation claims, including employment discrimination claims, contractual disputes, and products liability claims.  His practice includes the defense of single plaintiff claims, complex multi-plaintiff allegations, and class-based allegations.  He has been recognized as a Rising Star in the area of commercial litigation and employment practices by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine.

In the area of employment litigation, Brad defends employers against claims of workplace discrimination and harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, disability, gender preferences, and marital status.  He has had success in obtaining dismissals from state and federal agencies, and has presented several successful summary judgment motions in both the state and federal courts.  Brad has tried several cases to verdict.

Brad also defends employers in cases involving retaliation, defamation, breach of contract, wage and hour laws, wrongful termination, and non-competition agreements.  He has defended individual as well as class action employment claims.  In addition to employment litigation, he also defends clients in cases involving general commercial litigation and product liability, including claims involving pharmaceutical products, durable medical goods and devices, explosive gases, complex machinery and vehicles.  He has served as Minnesota counsel for several national and international companies, including pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, as well as entities in the telecommunications and software development industries.

To add perspective to his law degree, Brad holds a graduate degree in industrial/organizational psychology.  His graduate study focused on the application of statistical principals and scientific models to practical settings.  His study focused not only on the design and application of reliable and valid instruments, but the development of statistical models to evaluate sometimes subjective criteria with objective measures.
